About Me

Martin Dansky

The artist

My professional writing background began in Rome in October 1996 where I contributed an article for the Avvenimenti magazine. I had already been proofreading for the associated press in the eternal city, translated and taught languages. Although I had written the article in Italian I really had my heart set on writing in my own language; so when I took off to the Middle East, late in 1997 I had that opportunity to do freelance for a local regular English language newspaper. Coming home a year later meant a continued search for other freelance markets, and my registering with PWAC. The Quebec Drama Federation allowed me to contribute several articles for their quarterly issue while working as a program co-ordinator then for the theater milieu. Since I am also a professional artist and actor in Europe as well as Canada I have kept up my interests in writing up information pertinent on these issues. I have since self published two poetry books, co-wrote and directed a play called Circle Dance in 2005 and am in the process of completely my first short novel. All this is being done while refereeing scripts for friends, writing for the Bazaar in Montreal, blogging for the Hour, Helium and Triond and working on comedy sketches.
